How to Deploy Your Lovable App to Production (Without Touching a Terminal)

Three ways to take your Lovable app to real production: Lovable Cloud, Netlify or a managed service. Step by step, no terminal required, with honest tradeoffs on each path.

Why Lovable's preview is not production

The app.lovable.dev/yourname URL is a hosted preview, fine for showing your app but not built for real users. It is on shared infrastructure, you have no control over scaling, and the URL itself is not something a paying customer trusts.

You need three things for real production: a custom domain, control over your environment, and someone responsible when things break. Lovable has its own answer (Lovable Cloud + Custom Domain via Entri), but it is not the only option.

Path 1: Stay on Lovable Cloud with custom domain

Easiest path if you are already paying for Lovable Pro.

  1. Open your Lovable project, click Project Settings, Domains.
  2. Click Connect Domain. Enter your domain (bought separately at Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare).
  3. Lovable uses Entri to handle DNS automatically for most providers. For others you add a CNAME record manually.
  4. SSL is provisioned automatically by Let's Encrypt within a few minutes.

Pros: instant, no migration, integrated with Lovable's editor. Cons: Lovable Cloud pricing scales fast, no separate staging environment, scaling caps depending on your plan.

Path 2: Export to GitHub, deploy to Netlify or Vercel

For more control without much extra complexity.

  1. In Lovable, click GitHub Sync to push your project to a (private) GitHub repo.
  2. Sign up for Netlify or Vercel free tier. Connect your GitHub.
  3. Select the repo, click Deploy. The first build takes a few minutes.
  4. Add your custom domain in their Domains panel. They give you a CNAME target.
  5. Add the CNAME record at your domain registrar. SSL is automatic.
  6. Move all your secrets (Supabase URL and key, OpenAI key, etc) into the platform's Environment Variables panel.

Pros: scales further, free tier is generous, full GitHub workflow with branches and rollback. Cons: you handle env vars and updates yourself, no human review of the code, Lovable two way sync requires re configuration.

Path 3: Managed deployment with human review

For when you want someone responsible for the whole stack and a real engineer reviewing each release.

  1. Connect your Lovable GitHub repo to Ployed.
  2. An engineer reviews your codebase, flags security or migration concerns, and runs the first deploy.
  3. You get a custom domain, SSL, monitoring, backups, and a canvas editor for continued building.
  4. Every subsequent change is reviewed before going live.

Pros: you stop thinking about deployment, security gets a real check, you can grow without learning DevOps. Cons: subscription cost, less ad hoc tinkering than Vercel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep editing in Lovable after I move to Vercel?

Yes, with two way GitHub sync configured. Changes in Lovable push to GitHub, GitHub auto deploys to Vercel. Some users find it cleaner to switch to a code editor at this point.

Will I lose anything by exporting?

The Lovable Cloud database and storage. If your app uses them, plan for migration. Most apps use Supabase or Firebase which travel with the code.

Ready to ship your app?

Ployed handles deployment, security and monitoring. A real engineer reviews every release. You keep building in the canvas editor.
